FULL CARPETING FOR A CLASSIC
FINISH.
For a clean, more formal finish, carpeting is available in a
number of colors to top off your porta-floor.
BLACK CARPETING (ABOVE) |
Indoor-outdoor carpet is minimally
effected by weather while adding a comfortable, classical
appearance.
Temporary tape and seam finishes are available. |
|
|
|
|
While
nearly any solid color is available, black carpet is standard. It is
preferred over lighter shades to better hide seams and keeping attention
up higher on the festivities. It does not "darken" your tent
significantly while enhancing the appearance of your special event
lighting. Darker color shades are easier to clean & maintain so rental costs
are lower than other colors. |

FLOATING WOOD FLOORING
Floating wood flooring "floats" on the ground surface and
follows its contours. It is not build upon a joist system
underneath so is less expensive than framed wood flooring. It is
more expensive than but has a firmer feel and appearance than modular portafloor.
When installed on pavement or on a leveled cut
grass surface if can provide a beautiful flat floor. Two layers
laid in a cross hatch pattern provide an even firmer, flatter
floor with less chance for issues or site impacts or separation

FRAMED WOOD FLOORING
Framed wood flooring is the most like in-home construction and
is needed when terrain is rough or unlevel. It is the most
expensive option, but also the firmest and most level. Different
joist systems are used depending upon site requirements.
Typically a box joist is laid out and shimmed to level. Support
legs must be added (additional cost) if the ground level varies
more than a few inches. Framed wood It is not build upon a joist
system underneath so is less expensive than framed wood

NOTICE: EVENT FLOOR MUST BE INSTALLED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A TRAINED
SUPERVISOR. THE USER MAY PROVIDE LABOR TO SAVE COSTS. DUE TO INSURANCE,
LIABILITY AND COMPATIBILITY ISSUES FLOORING MAY NOT BE INSTALLED UNDER ANOTHER
VENDOR'S TENT. USE FLOORING PROVIDED BY THAT VENDOR. AMEREVENT FLOORING MAY BE
INSTALLED UNDER A USER (RENTER) OWNED TENT OR THE TENT OF AN INSURED VENUE IF
COMPATIBLE. MINIMUM FLOORING ORDER IS 800 SF.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
INSTALL EVENT FLOORING ON AN UNEVEN, ROUGH
OR UNPREPARED SITE! This will likely result in floor failure, impact
everything using the floor and cause your disappointment! All flooring requires a
flat, even surface to build upon. The photos above show examples.
Installation on pavement usually works great with minimal
preparation requirements. Installation on soil (or grass) has more
needs. Portafloor follows the contour of the land so prior grading and leveling of your site may be required
in any uneven or rough area. Close cutting of grass is needed so the flooring is
not pushed up by the vegetation. for proper use. This requires a few weeks
advance preparation and multiple cuttings to 0.50-0.75 inches, similar to a golf
course fairway. Multiple cuttings, each time leaving a bit shorter grass, helps
protect the grass from damage by cutting too short all at once. Drainage should
flow away from site; portafloor does allow for drainage, it can be overwhelmed.
Porta floor is exempt from the vinyl tarp moisture barrier and top cover
requirements. On wood floors, a vinyl tarp
must be installed over the area where a wood floor is to be installed --- this will mark the area
and more importantly protect against panel warping. Another vinyl tarp must be placed
over the flooring (or flooring and carpeting) when not in use to protect it from
the weather if the floor is not completely under cover including from blown-in rain.
Be sure to make sure this happens --- the customer is responsible for warping, water logging,
cracking and any other damage to the floor (and replacements costs are expensive)! Flooring is
expensive, so do not let lack of proper site preparation cause a poor installation.
There is no warranty on flooring due and is at the USER's risk. For standard use requirements, see the EQUIPMENT - FLOORING section of
POLICY-SOP.
